This platform is a sound map that captures and portrays the sounds of Mexico from field recordings provided by the National Audio Archive and by any citizen who wants to participate in its conformation. It means the possibility of tracing the sound geography of Mexico in a digital interface of wide and easy access. The map allows us to listen to recordings that register the sounds of a town, a city or a natural environment and shows us the exact place where those sounds took place through its geolocation.

This development of the Fonoteca Nacional is an invitation to listen to what Mexico sounds like and to form a community of listeners interested in capturing and sharing its sonorities for the knowledge and delight of all its visitors.
