BIS SCHOOLING MODE

The UTMatamoros has implemented the Bilingual, International and Sustainable (BIS) educational option, which represents an option to expand coverage with inclusion and operates under three axes:

Bilingual: Bilingual training represents an axis that strengthens the professional profile of students by incorporating communication and comprehension skills in a second language, allowing graduates to expand the context in which they develop. Universities implement the bilingual scheme gradually, using the mother tongue in the first school years to facilitate adaptation to the second language, which is progressively introduced into the curriculum.
International: Internationalization contributes to maintaining the validity of educational programs, to develop in international and globalized environments, considering the social, cultural and productive demands that are identified, as well as the training processes that students and teachers experience in their relationship with abroad.
Sustainable: sustainability is understood as the interrelationship of the environmental, social and economic aspects present in society, so that they coexist for the benefit of humanity. This axis contributes to the comprehensive education of the student, transmitting, applying and disseminating knowledge for the solution of the country’s problems from a sustainable and inclusive approach.

DEPRESSURIZED SHIFT OPTION

With this option, coverage is expanded to serve other vulnerable groups that require a flexible alternative, where the academic load of an educational program is distributed over up to one more year of schooling. This allows for a lower weekly workload, facilitating access to this option. To this end, the guidelines that support the implementation of this educational option have been foreseen.

Modality: MIXTA

This modality is defined as a combination of the schooled and non-schooled modalities to study the subjects that make up a curriculum. The main characteristic of this option is the virtuality in the educational processes, since there are no spatial coincidences between the educational actors, although temporal coincidence can occur through synchronous means. In this educational option, students: Have teacher mediation and the use of technological resources for the teaching and learning process. They have a diverse study space on campus. They follow a combined curricular path. They must stick to a flexible calendar and schedule.
