THE UTM FAMILY STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE VICTIMS OF THE EARTHQUAKE IN THE CENTER OF THE COUNTRY.
Students, teachers and administrative staff set up a food collection center.
Solidarity is a unique value that distinguishes us human beings and it is through this value that students, faculty and staff of this Institution, joined together to help those affected by the earthquake, installing a food collection center.
At the call of the rector of this university, Dr. Ivett Bermea Vázquez, non-perishable food, bottled water, personal hygiene items and medicines were collected for people in Mexico City, Puebla, Guerrero and Oaxaca.
The collection center was set up at the liaison building, where the entire UT Matamoros family took their contributions, which will be channeled for delivery to families who require it and through the institutions in charge of keeping track of this situation.
Among the items collected were canned and non-perishable food, bottled water, powdered milk, toiletries and personal care items such as feminine towels, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, diapers and healing materials such as syringes, gloves, bandages, hydrogen peroxide, cotton, alcohol, to mention a few items, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The UT Matamoros Rector thanked everyone for their contributions since in this way the institution contributes with a grain of sand to support those people who need it most at this time.
